Soundproofing Large Spaces – Saint-Bernard

SOUNDPROOFING THE MUNICIPAL CENTER IN SAINT-BERNARD

Reducing the Echo in Large Spaces with Feltkütur

The Municipality of Saint-Bernard in Beauce, a dynamic and prosperous community, recently undertook an ambitious project to improve the soundproofing of its Municipal Center. This large space hosts a variety of events, from public meetings to social celebrations. However, the acoustics of the spacious hall posed a major challenge, hindering the quality of exchanges and the experience of participants.

The municipality decided to act in partnership with the Feltkütur team, to reduce the echo of this large space and make it more enjoyable. Working with their distributor Emblm, Feltkütur was able to propose and implement acoustic solutions tailored to the needs of the Municipal Center.

The addition of Tekboard Quadra acoustical baffle system was identified as a priority. Ceiling surfaces, often overlooked, play a crucial role in sound reflection. Excessive reflections in the municipal centre created disturbing echoes, making speeches and discussions difficult to follow. To remedy this, Emblm provided high-quality acoustic panels designed by Feltkütur, specifically adapted to absorb sound and reduce reverberation time in the hall.

The Tan Percé color of felt was chosen for this project. The aesthetic and discreet design of the Tekboard Quadra seamlessly integrated with the existing architecture, preserving the visual aspect while significantly enhancing the acoustics. The panels, manufactured in Quebec from recycled and sustainable materials, also reflect the municipality's commitment to environmentally friendly practices.

The success of this project rests on the effective collaboration between the Municipality of Saint-Bernard, Feltkütur, and Emblm. Emblm, as a trusted distributor, played a crucial role in providing the necessary products and ensuring rigorous follow-up throughout the process.

This exemplary project illustrates the importance of acoustics in public spaces and shows how well-thought-out solutions can transform user experience.

For the Municipality of Saint-Bernard, reducing the echo and noises of the Municipal Center is not only a matter of comfort but also an effort to strengthen cohesion and communication within the community.
