The Outdoor Base at Ste-Foy adds an acoustic touch to its design
ACOUSTIC PANELS MEETING THE DECOR OF THE SITE
To reflect the northern landscape of the Ste-Foy Outdoor Base site, the materials selected by the architectural firm were primarily chosen for their rustic and natural appearance. One of the materials chosen was slate. While searching for acoustic materials, Patriarche found that the Gray Fermont Düotex felt panel blended nicely thanks to its texture resembling that of slate. It was therefore a natural choice to add it to their collection of materials for this project. The soundproofing panels cover central modules in order to create important points in the room and can be seen in the buildings on the Base.
The Patriarche firm adds that "The initial idea was to treat the volumes that stood out in the large multifunctional room differently by introducing an acoustic treatment in order to improve the reverberation and sound in the room."
